Vegetable Plant Starts are either potted individually in a 3" deep square pot or in a 4-pack (indicated in the title).
Our plant starts are Certified Naturally Grown. We use organic and non-GMO seeds, organic compost-rich potting mix, and naturally-derived fertilizers.

Collards - Excellent braising green. This variety has uniform, flat leaves for easy harvest. 4-pack.
Cucumber, Pickling - Cool Customer - Uniform fruits average 4" long with exceptional flavor. Grow a few and make enough pickles to last the year. Don't forget to order a Dill plant start, too!
Cucumber, Slicer - Marketmore 76 - A classic slicing cucumber, 8-9" long. Perfect for summer salads.
Eggplant, Italian - A prolific producer of uniform-sized fruits, with dark purple skin and tender flesh. Spineless plant makes for an easier harvest.
Kale, Curly - Strong producer of nutritious hearty greens. Harvest stems throughout the entire season, well into the fall. 4-pack.
Kale, Lacinato - "Dinosaur"-type kale with uniform long, narrow leaves. Great for fresh salads, stir-fries, & braising. 4-pack.
Lettuce, Oak Leaf - Tender head lettuce variety with crisp leaves. 4-pack.
Bell Pepper - Thick-walled fruits have excellent flavor. Harvest while green or leave to ripen until red and sweet. Open-pollinated variety.
Carmen Frying Pepper - Frying peppers have a lower water content than bell peppers but still a nice thick wall, making them ideal for sautéing. Very flavorful, sweet pepper. Also known as a bullhorn pepper.
Cayenne Pepper - This highly productive plant yields bright red fruits that are 6" long. Make a fresh hot sauce or dry for home-grown chili flakes. Medium-high heat.
Habanada Pepper - Roulette variety. All the flavor of a Habanero pepper without any of the heat! A dream come true for the Midwestern palate.
Jalapeno Pepper - Classic hot pepper for fresh eating, salsas, & canning. Medium heat.
Lunchbox Snack Pepper - For cute! These mini bell peppers are perfect for snacking on straight off the plant or adding to your lunchbox, as their name suggests!
Poblano Pepper - Poblano's are great for stuffed peppers and for making chile relleno. Mild to medium heat.
Serrano Pepper - Emma's personal favorite pepper for fresh eating and salsa making! Very flavorful with medium-high heat.
Shishito Pepper - Thin-walled peppers are very flavorful with mild heat. Toss them on the grill until blistered, then season with lime juice and salt - a fabulous summer appetizer.
Rainbow Chard - Colorful assortment of stems. Harvest all season! 4-pack.
Rhubarb - Our namesake! This is a first-year plant grown from seed and stalks should not be harvested until the second year so the plant can establish. Harvest lightly in year two, in year three harvests can be more substantial.
Tomatillo - Large fruits grow inside husks. Two plants are required for cross-pollination and fruit set. Makes an excellent salsa verde - pair it with a Serrano Pepper plant!
Brandywine Tomato - Our personal favorite heirloom slicer tomato. Deep pink skin and smooth, red flesh with superior flavor. Indeterminate.
Cherokee Purple Tomato - Heirloom tomato with dark purple flesh, rich flavor, and great texture. Indeterminate.
German Johnson Tomato - Heirloom pink slicer. Slightly smaller fruits than Brandywine. Indeterminate.
Mountain Fresh Plus Tomato - Uniform red slicer yielding 1/2 to 1 lb fruits. Determinate.
San Marzano Tomato - The best paste tomato for sauces and canning. Heirloom Italian varietal. Indeterminate.
Striped German Tomato - Heirloom slicer tomato with shades of yellow, orange, and red - the marbled interior makes for an elegant and beautiful slice. We regularly harvested 1.5 lb fruits from our garden last year! Indeterminate.
Valencia Orange Tomato - Thick flesh and few seeds make this a perfect orange tomato for salads and sandwiches.
Black Cherry Tomato - Rated as one of the best tasting cherry tomatoes from Johnny's Seeds. High yielding and indeterminate for a long harvest.
Red Cherry Tomato - Smaller red fruits with excellent flavor. Harvest individually or cut in clusters and let them ripen on the vine. Indeterminate.
Sun Gold Tomato - Arguably the best tasting cherry tomato there is! Small orange tomatoes have low acidity and an incredible, slightly-sweet flavor. Sun Golds are our favorite garden snack. Indeterminate.
Sunrise Bumblebee Cherry Tomato - A sweet cherry tomato with pink and orange ribbing. These are beautiful and delicious in a cherry tomato mix or as a stand-alone snacking variety.
