We are looking for one Farm Crew member to join our team and help us bring in the harvest! This part-time position (24-30 hours per week) offers employment from August through the end of October, with opportunities to extend work into the winter months if desired.
Rhubarb Botanicals LLC is a diversified 40-acre farm run by Emma Barber (she/her) and Jeremy Wilhelm (he/him) in east central Iowa. We cultivate medicinal herbs, culinary herbs, and cut flowers on our 1 1/2-acre Certified Naturally Grown botanical field and raise Katahdin sheep on our 32-acre pasture.
Employee Task Description
Employees will work directly with Emma (she/her) producing specialty horticultural crops including medicinal herbs, culinary herbs, and flowers. Job tasks include (but are not limited to) field and bed preparation, harvesting herbs, managing the drying and and processing of dried herbs, post-harvest preparation of culinary herbs, flower harvesting, arranging flower bouquets, field clean-up & winterizing, farmers market preparation & vending, and cleaning and organizing work spaces.

Location & Details
Our farm is located at 650 Martelle Road, Springville, IA - between Mount Vernon and Springville. Workers must have reliable transportation to and from our farm. Housing is not available. Must be able to work collaboratively with others, practice open communication, and be detail-oriented. Previous farm experience is preferred but not required. Workers must be able to work outside in various weather conditions, be physically capable of standing for 8 hours a day, and should be able to occasionally lift up to 40lbs.
Starting pay is $15/hour. 40-minute paid lunch is included in a full working day (typical hours are 7:30-3:30).
