Valerian has been known to ease muscle cramping and spasms, reduce anxiousness, and aid sleep. Craft your own consumable or topical remedies with our fresh harvested Valerian Root (Valeriana officinalis), grown for 2 seasons on our Certified Naturally Grown farm.
Suggested preparations - fresh root tincture or glycerite, dry roots for tea infusions. Tinctures can be applied externally as a liniment for relief of muscle aches & cramps.
To make a tincture - finely chop or blend 1 parts fresh root with 2 parts alcohol (preferably 75% ABV such as Everclear 151). Cover & keep in a dark, cool place for one month, shaking often. Strain and decant. 1/2 lb Valerian root will make approximately 16 oz of tincture.
